Rob Makes First Trip to Hartford for
Travelers Championship Camp
Rob had been trying to get to Hartford for several years, to the place where ASL began way back in 1815. Thanks to PGA Tour Charities, the staff at the Travelers Championship and the American School for the Deaf, that event finally happened in late June. The host site was the famed Wethersfield Country Club golf course, previous site of the PGA Tour event held in Hartford. Rob had professionals Joe Durant and Jay Williamson lined up to do the clinic for the kids. Thanks to lost luggage, mainly his clubs, Joe missed the event that morning but promised to come back later to be a part of the camps. Jay wowed the kids with his accuracy and long straight drives. After the clinic and some instruction from Rob the group grabbed lunch and went over the TPC River Highlands to watch the Pro-Am competition. Also, they got an up close look into a real PGA Tour equipment trailer courtesy of the guys at Taylor Made. Once inside they got to see how the players get special help from the expert technicians in making their clubs just right!
